Location and geographical values
The Rozogi commune is located in the south-east part of the Warmia and Mazury district, near an important route Warszawa - Mazury, on the area of a region called ' Green lungs of Poland', on the Mazurian - Kurpian border From the south and south-east it neighbours with typically Kurpian communes: Myszyniec and Łyse which lie in Masovian district. It adds up to about 6000 inhabitants and occupies the area of 244 square kilometres. The commune's area comprises a significant part of catchment areas of two rivers such as Jerutki and Rozogi. The Rozogi commune is a typical agricultural commune, it has not got developed industry. An average household counts on average 15 ha, the biggest farms, those occupying the area of over 40 ha make nearly 1 % of all the agricultural households. Wonderful forests and forest grounds which are characterized by immaculate clear air, with a prevailing Mazurian pine's species of the best quality occupy 40 % of the overall commune's surface. They are the main tourist advantage of our environs

 

History
The Rozogi commune is historically connected with a municipal centre in Szczytno. Rozogi's (1654) and adjacent villages' founding was a result of an intensive colonisation's process which was carried out by a Prussian king Fryderyk Wilhelm who in 1789 raised the Rozogi village to a town's status. The XIXth century was for Rozogi's inhabitants a period of fighting for independence. The greatest flourishing took place in the second half of the XIXth century.

Monuments
Monumental attractions in the Rozogi commune are: churches and evangelic cemeteries and a monumental, Mazurian village Klon. Another place which is worth seeing is a memory room of the Mazurian - Kurpian borderland in Rozogi.

Economy
The Rozogi commune's economic development is based mainly on local natural supplies, especially forestry and agriculture. With these two economic domains a significant number of the commune's inhabitants is connected. The Rozogi commune possesses quite a big supply of communal grounds which are designated for economic investment, it is also at disposal of an own natural ore. In this direction it directs the policy supporting possible investors. The headquarters are interested in eco-friendly industry and also tourism. The commune's economic policy defines the vision of its development and a broad scope of activities for the nearest years.
